It would be easy to imagine that Enrique Iglesias no longer has
anything to prove. After all, the Madrid-born singer who grew up in
Miami has sold 40 million albums in a little over ten years, becoming
one of the most famous artists in the history of pop music.
This is a pop star like no other.
Born in 1975, Enrique had an ordinary adolescence in Miami. He started
writing and recording songs without his parents knowing. He sent out
his first demos as an unknown Central American singer named Enrique
Martínez. It wasn’t until after signing a record contract with
Mexico’s regional label Fonovisa that Enrique decided to use his real
name.
Throughout his career, Enrique has been awarded many Hispanic and
international music awards.
